As a devoted kindergarten teacher with over 14 years of experience, I am thrilled to be a part of your child's learning journey. Kindergarten is an essential period where we lay the foundation for your child's future academic success.

 

In today's educational landscape, kindergarten is considered the new first grade. Students aged 5 and 6 are expected to not only grasp letters and sounds but also read 20 words per minute with comprehension. They are also expected to be familiar with shapes, numbers, and basic addition and subtraction up to 10.

 

While the academic expectations for kindergarteners are high, it is crucial to remember that they are still young children. Learning should be an enjoyable and exciting experience for them.
